Over the past six months giving fans a taste of new music in the form of singles “Mirror Mirror” and “Out of my Way”, 4i is now ready to serve up new EP Dreamt But Never Slept. A collection of thoughts and ideas he's been sitting on for quite some time, the talented wordsmith feels he’s now ready to share what’s been on his mind before moving on to a more current set of concepts.
Produced entirely by longtime collaborator DA, Dreamt But Never Slept follows up the 2014 UK Unsigned Hype winner’s critically-acclaimed debut album Soul Rich, and according to 4i it’s taken on many different forms throughout the creative process. “The concept came to me when I was in college - so about four or five years ago,” he says. “However back then I felt I wasn’t equipped to execute the songs the way I wanted to. Fast forward to now and the EP is finally finished.”
Sharing the concept behind Dreamt But Never Slept, 4i adds: “It’s about belief, persistence, perseverance and hope, despite the challenges and struggles that will come your way. Giving a more personal insight into my own journey the aim is to bring the listener closer, to be able to connect on a more visceral level than I did on Soul Rich.”
Featuring Kieron Boothe, Autumn Sharif, E_Minor, and fellow Paradime comrade Latir, Dreamt But Never Slept is a deep and poetic project that educates the mind and ignites the soul - you’re guaranteed to feel better after listening to it.
